FIREARM SAFETY TRAINING COURSE
The Firearm Safety and Training Council is an approved body responsible for pre-licence firearm safety training. Police accredited Firearm Safety and Training Officers who are members of approved shooting clubs do this training. You will find at least one Firearms Safety and Training Officer in your local area with whom you can arrange to complete a test.

A Statement of Attainment in Firearms Safetyis issued upon successful completion of the course.

A fee of $130.00 including GST will be charged for the adult course and issue of a Statement of Attainment.

A fee of $70.00 is applicable to minors.
This fee does not go to the Government but is divided between the local shooting club that will conduct the Firearm Safety Training Course and the Firearm Safety and Training Council.
The monies collected will be used by the Council in developing and promoting shooting sports within the states and at Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games and international shooting competitions.
To obtain your undertake the Firearm Safety Training Course:

To contact your nearest Firearm Safety and Training Officer, call the Firearm Safety and Training Council on (02) 9486 3077 and we will advise you of your nearest officer to your location.

Then contact your nearest Firearm Safety and Training Officer, to register for the Firearm Safety Training Course and complete your P650 Exemption Form (This is required as there is now a component of practical training in the course.)

Make an appointment to complete the course with the Firearm Safety and Training Officer .

A fee of $130.00 for adults and $70.00 for minors should be paid to the Firearms Safety and Training Officer when registering for the Firearm Safety Training Course.

Upon successfully completing the course you will be given a Statement of Attainment. This Statement of Attainment contains a declaration, which you should read and understand before signing. The Statement of Attainment must accompany your Firearms Licence application.
